BECOME AN UNDERWRITER OR HOST

Why Become an Underwriter or Show Host?

When you underwrite or host on KTCP, you’re doing more than supporting a radio station; you’re amplifying local voices, building community trust, and helping shape the cultural future of Bell County and beyond.

As an underwriter, your name, business, or organization gains meaningful visibility through FCC-compliant on-air mentions. You can choose to support what matters most to you, from first responder communication training to STEM broadcasting programs in specific schools or ISDs. Your dollars go directly to the programs and people making a difference.

As a show host, you bring your voice, knowledge, and passion to the airwaves while developing valuable skills, connecting with your community, and even preparing for nationwide syndication.

KTCP is more than local - we’re a launchpad for creative collaboration and new ideas. Whether you want to start your own show, adapt a podcast, or support a program that reflects your values, we have the platform and the people to make it happen.

Your voice matters. Let’s build something powerful together.

  • Empowering the Next Generation of Storytellers, Scientists, and Citizens

Imagine a future where every student in Bell County has the chance to be heard.

The Bell County Student Broadcasting Trust is a dedicated fund created to ensure that every ISD in Bell County has the opportunity to produce a weekly student-led radio show broadcast every Saturday on KTCP 98.7 FM.

    This initiative promotes:

    • Truth in Journalism – Teaching students ethical reporting, research, and critical thinking.

    • STEM in Action – Hands-on learning in audio engineering, editing, and broadcasting tech.

    • Oral Communication & Presentation Skills – Preparing students for real-world speaking and media interactions.

    • Civic Engagement – Giving students a platform to share community stories, challenges, and solutions.

    How It Works:

    • Each school receives basic broadcasting equipment, training, and mentorship.

    • Students create a weekly 15–30 minute show — from interviews to STEM reports, school news, or cultural commentary.

    • KTCP broadcasts each program on Saturday mornings, rotating by district or school.

    • A committee of educators, media professionals, and community leaders oversees programming support and mentorship.

    • The trust ensures long-term funding, teacher stipends, and student incentives like scholarships or internships.

    The Goal:

To make Bell County a national model for youth-led public media, combining education, creativity, and civic responsibility.
